Service Description

This hands-on class introduces students to the fundamentals of creating garment shapes directly on the dress form. Students will learn how to work with fabric on the form while developing an understanding of grain, balance, fit, shaping, darts, seam placement, and silhouette. Participants will also learn how to properly mark and annotate their draped pieces with the essential information needed to begin translating a drape into a usable pattern. This class is ideal for students who want to strengthen their understanding of three-dimensional garment development and how design concepts move from the dress form into construction. Recommended Experience: Basic sewing and garment construction experience is strongly recommended.
